Seize the Day
I recently read Ryan Blair’s book, Nothing to Lose, Everything to Gain, and was taken aback by how similar our lives are just on opposite sides of the country.
It’s a great book if you want to learn how to grow a business and truly become an entrepreneur. The life of an entrepreneur is something that many people yearn to attain, but most don’t realize the struggle, heartache and anxiety involved in order to become financially secure. It is a long hard journey and not for everyone. However, the one thing that has stuck with me about Ryan’s book is he briefly mentions the term Carpe Diem.
As most of you already know, if I don’t know what something means, I will admit it and then find out what it means. In fact in my book, Ask More Get More, I discuss the word contrarian and not knowing what it meant. Carpe Diem was a term that I did not know but when translated means “seize the day.” In my book I discuss how to maintain balance sometimes you have to just BE. A book titled ASK MORE GET MORE it seems somewhat contradictory to just BE, or seize the day. Some would say a better phrase for Ask More Get More would be “seize more.” However, after you read my book you will learn that the essence of Ask More Get More has nothing to do with material things or money, it is more about a quality of life.
Sometimes we get caught up in our day to day lives, we get caught up in making money, and caught up in advancing our careers. I must admit I too get caught up in the whirlwind of my day to day life, but as I also discuss in my book, simple things are some of the most effective ways to get more. In order to truly GET MORE out of life you need to just simply BE and seize the day. In your quest to get more don’t forget, Carpe Diem.
